Mulberry Bush Day Nursery is committed to providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all. We ensure that our service is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children, families, staff members and visitors regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. The practices within our nurseries fully support the Fundamental British Values as defined by the Department of Education. We welcome all families within the nursery and have a non-discriminatory admissions policy. We actively welcome children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and work in partnership with parents and professionals to make reasonable adjustments and provide appropriate support. We use the English Language Support Services if translation is required, alongside any community help that may be available.
The primary purpose of Mulberry Bush Day Nursery is to provide childcare for parents who need, or choose, to leave their child in the care of another party for the majority of the day, in a nurturing environment that provides high quality pre-school education.
Our opening times are 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. We are open for 51 weeks of the year, closing for 1 week over the Christmas period. We are also closed on Bank Holidays. We are registered to take children in the Early Years age group and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Welfare Standards on the numbers attending. It is recommended that children attend for a minimum of 2 half days or one full day, and a maximum of 5 full days. Full details of all sessions are in our prospectus (All day: 8am-6pm; Morning: 8am-2pm; Afternoon: 2pm-6pm) Children can also attend for a minimum of 1 or a maximum of 5 fully-funded sessions (Mon-Fri, 1pm-4pm) and Early Education is offered within the National Parameters. Choosing the right care for your child is a big decision. As professional early years educators and child carers we are committed to providing a happy and stimulating environment where the welfare, safety and development of your child is our number one priority. Our prospectus gives you a taste of what to expect from Mulberry Bush Day Nursery however we always recommend visiting the nursery in person before registering. See contact page to arrange a visit and find out more.
Registering
Following your visit, if you choose to register your child we require a completed Registration Form and either a Registration Fee or Deposit (£50) to secure your place. Places are allocated according to our Admissions Policy. Families are contacted before their start date to organise a Home Visit, Care Plan meeting and settling-in sessions. At either the Home Visit or the Care Plan meeting the child’s Birth Certificate must be presented so that a member of the senior team can confirm the names of those with parental responsibility and the child’s date of birth (see also ‘Parental Involvement Policy’.) This is also used to confirm eligibility for the funding entitlement and may be requested by the Local Authority for audit or fraud investigation purposes. For safeguarding reasons, we must have photographs of the child’s parents and those named as Authorised Adults before the child can start their settling-in sessions.
