At Mulberry Bush we make aim to provide high quality Early Years Education in a nurturing environment while keeping fees affordable for working families.

Fees are charged for the sessions booked and are payable in advance, calculated using the child’s expected attendance pattern. For all-year-round attendance, payments are averaged over twelve months, resulting in identical payments for each month. Term-time attendance payments are calculated termly, with monthly payments over 11 months (as there is no attendance in August.)

Government Funding for Working Parents

The Government offer 1140 funded hours per year to families who meet the working parents criteria.  This is for 38 weeks per year only, so equates to 30 hours if attending term-time, or 22.35 hours if attending all-year-round (51 weeks.) It can be accessed the term after your child turns 9 months old.
We offer the entitlement without any additional charges for parents who do not want their child to access the chargeable extras. These are called ‘Fully-Funded Places’ and they are available from 1pm-4pm, Monday to Friday. They can be attended either all-year-round or term-time but cannot be booked in conjunction with any other sessions. It is not possible to attend any sessions other than the fully-funded sessions and opt out of the chargeable extras.
If you would like your child to attend for full days, mornings, or afternoons then you can still use your Government funding but there is a fee for chargeable extras as itemised below. Parents opt-in to all chargeable extras unless their child is accessing a fully-funded place.

Government funding for disadvantaged 2 year olds

This is awarded to families who meet certain government criteria.  Children in receipt of this funding can access any nursery session and the chargeable extras fee for their funded hours will be covered by the nursery.  Parents are liable for the cost of any hours attended over and above their funded hours.  Once parents become eligible for the Government Funding for Working Families they will be liable to pay for chargeable extras unless they opt out and choose a fully-funded place.

Government funding for 3 and 4 year olds (universal entitlement)

Families of children aged 3 and 4 who are not eligible for the ‘working parent entitlement’ will still be able to access up to 570 hours per year (up to 11.17 hours per week all-year-round or 15 hours per week term-time.)  This funding can be used in the same way as the working parent entitlement to either access fully-funded sessions, where there is no charge, or standard nursery sessions where the chargeable extras fee is payable. If families meet the criteria for the government funding for disadvantaged 2 year olds the chargeable extras fee for their funded hours be covered by the nursery.  Parents are liable for the cost of any hours attended over and above their funded hours.  Once parents become eligible for the Government Funding for Working Families they will be liable to pay for chargeable extras unless they opt out and choose a fully-funded session. NB: Where a parent is not eligible for Government Funding for Working Families due to high income, they will still be liable to pay for chargeable extras, unless they choose to opt out.
Any government funded hours not used at Mulberry Bush can be used at up to two other providers, but not more than two providers in one day.
Families are reminded to contact a member of the management team as soon as possible if they are experiencing any difficulties regarding payment of fees.  We may be able to offer flexible payment plans to support families with short term cash flow problems, or discuss further options.
