At Mulberry Bush Day Nursery we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life. We get to know every child as an individual, building professional yet friendly relationships with the child’s family in order to fully understand the knowledge and experiences that each child brings. We believe that our curriculum and high-quality learning experiences help to provide the foundation for future learning, economic success and well-being.
We call this ‘Learning for Life’
Our Curriculum (or ‘what we learn’)
At Mulberry Bush Day Nursery we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as our framework. We plan activities and provide experiences to promote learning in each of the seven ‘Areas of Learning’ from the EYFS:-
Personal, social and emotional development
Communication and language
Physical development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design
We believe that communication, language and literacy are the foundation stone for future learning and educational success and to promote this we have a book led curriculum. Every month we use one well known or acclaimed children’s book as inspiration for the activities and experiences offered to children as appropriate for different ages and stage of development. We have a communication rich environment - every day is filled with talking, reading, listening and laughter. We know how important it is for everyone to have a time to talk and to be listened to.
Over the year our curriculum is designed to ensure that children have ample opportunities to experience, learn and develop in all areas of the EYFS.
